the quality of metal circular saws matters greatly, yet inadequate maintenance will drastically shorten their service life. regular upkeep can prolong equipment lifespan, sustain stable operation and minimize failure rates. below is a guide to the key maintenance points for metal circular saws.

1. pre-operation inspection & maintenance

inspect the machine thoroughly before operating metal circular saws for solid bars or other workpieces.

check the oil level strictly in accordance with the lubrication diagram to ensure sufficient oil/grease and unobstructed oil lines. verify that sliding surfaces are free of rust, oil sludge, dirt and scratches, and check if the lubricant has discolored or deteriorated.

examine all components and safety devices to confirm they are intact and reliable. inspect power circuits, motor wiring and electrical systems to rule out short circuits and ensure normal power supply.

after the above checks, power on the motor and run the machine idle for 10 minutes. do not start formal cutting work during this period.

then inspect and adjust the main transmission system: check the tension of direct-drive belts, and confirm the saw blade is installed in the correct direction and position without looseness.

adjust the hydraulic system to ensure flexible handle operation and accurate clamping, feeding, retracting and releasing movements. keep hydraulic oil above the scale line, ensure the hydraulic pump works properly and no leakage occurs in pipelines.

check the cooling system to guarantee adequate, uncontaminated and unspoiled coolant with no leaks.

2. maintenance during operation

stop the machine immediately if abnormal noise occurs. inspect the main transmission, lubrication, hydraulic, cooling systems and vice. check for unusual sounds or leakage in hydraulic and cooling circuits. ensure the oil level inside the tool box is no less than one-third of the marked line.

keep a close watch on operating speed, temperature, noise and vibration of the motor and electrical parts. avoid excessive operating speed to prevent overload.

scratches on guide pillars are common during operation. once detected, halt production immediately for grinding and repair.

if belts flip or get damaged, repair or replace them promptly. also check the power fuse when faults occur.

3. post-operation maintenance

after work, reset all operating handles and switches to neutral positions, then cut off the power supply.

clean the workplace and wipe down the machine exterior to prevent dust and debris from entering internal parts. follow standard operating procedures and conduct maintenance on a regular basis. good usage and maintenance habits will keep the circular saw running efficiently for a longer time.
